Hi again,
I spoke with Ellen tonight, and thankfully she and her family are safe and were not involved in the Interstate 35 bridge collapse. Apparently, it's near her office at the University of Minnesota and she sometimes uses it.
I've realized that as the Walker cousins reach new stages in life, there is a bigger need for more frequent communication. What I have decided to do, is try to offer a solution. I've come up with a way for us to have an online bulletin board. This will be a good way for you to either share family information, or to learn something about the concerns of the family. Previously, our family updates have been made by phone and email, but occasionally someone accidentally gets left out of the loop.

I was just about to shoot off an e-mail about Ellen. Thanks for the info.
Yes, we are all fine. Neither Phil or I know of anyone directly involved, but it could have been any of us. Lots of e-mails about traffic flow and University buildings being closed or used as staging areas in the recovery effort that I have received at work. We haven't viewed the site directly, but may be able to get close to it now...anyone, at any time. It will be interesting to see how the city deals with the additional 50,000 University of MN students who will be returning soon. We are south of the U, and the bridge was north, so it doesn't directly affect my commute. My co-workers all made it to work the next day; we had difficulty calling each other because many only have cell phones and the system was overloaded. For those of you who don't know me, I am Dwight's daughter, Carl's granddaughter, and Elaine Sitz's sister.
