Greetings from Joanne & Ray,
Just wanted to send an update on what's going on
with Ray and I. When Ray had his physical in May the doctor detected a
slight heart murmur so he ordered an Echo. When those results came back
the family doctor suggested that Ray see a cardologist which he did the first of
June. That doctor wanted Ray to have a catheterization done which he did
have on June 14th. He came through the procedure fine but the results were
aortic stenosis. The aortic valve isnn't working as it should due to
calcification which comes with age. We then saw a surgeon. He said a
valve replacement needs to be done. Ray has surgery schedule for Thursday,
June 28th. The surgery will be done here in La Porte and the surgeon will
be coming in from Valparaiso. After meeting with the surgeon we were very
pleased with him as he was very thorough in explaining Ray's condition and
explaining the surgery. Ray has not been having a lot of the symptoms but
he has just been very tired. Hopefully this will help. We would
appreciate your prayers on Thursday.
It will be a very long summer for Ray as he will
probably be in the hospital 4 to 5 day then healing will probably be 6 to 8
weeks.
You all take care and I will continue to keep all
of you posted.
Love,
Joanne
