I've realized that as the Walker cousins reach new stages in life, there is a bigger need for more frequent communication. What I have decided to do, is try to offer a solution. I've come up with a way for us to have an online bulletin board. This will be a good way for you to either share family information, or to learn something about the concerns of the family. Previously, our family updates have been made by phone and email, but occasionally someone accidentally gets left out of the loop.
Hmmmm. It looks like Donnabelle and Don. And perhaps Bob Drake? But I would have to guess at the kids. It looks like Don's famous BBQ chicken. I'm guessing the late forties?
I don't think Don ever had a recipe. He did charcoal in a grill like that and put the chicken on. Then he would baste it with butter. I believe he had a spray bottle available to keep flare ups down. Perhaps the boys can help with other details.
"That is us in the picture and had to be 1959 or later because that would have been the first time I was at a family gathering. It was a family dinner at Aunt Bert's house in Osceola."
That could be me on my dad's lap. It is definitely Paul. My best guess: Aunt Donnabelle, Bob and Bobbie Drake, Paul, Jack, and Don Walker.
Chicken: Melt whole sticks of butter in a pan. Baste it on every time the chicken is turned. Yes there was a spray bottle for fires caused by the chicken drippings.

Tom, The photo says "Bert's" and either 1954 0r 1959. I'm betting on 1959.
I would like to hear more about Don's BBQ chicken. Any recipes out there?

I can remember my Mom basted chicken on the grill with butter. Maybe it's a walker thing. All I know is that it was GOOD!
The oldest boy is Paul, so I guess 1959 also.
Here is a comment from Bobbie Drake.
