Robin & I and my sisters (Carol Allen, Beverly Rye & Marleen Greene) were privileged to attend the graduation of my niece Sharon Rye from the Law School of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA on Sunday May 18. The entourage also included Ron Rye, Bill Allen and our cousin Alden Oyer. Following the graduation, we were all invited to Sharon's apartment for a graduation pizza party which was also attended by Paul & Diane Walker. Paul & Diane's university responsibilities had kept them from attending the Law School Graduation. Paul & Diane also hosted the entourage at their home for an outstanding gourmet dinner. The entire group had a fabulous time in Charlottesville.
Following graduation, Sharon, her mother and cat Sophie rode out to Portland, Oregon in Sharon's Toyota Corolla. Sharon has accepted a position with a large law firm in downtown Portland and she has a downtown apartment. She is currently studying for the Oregon bar exam which is given at the end of July. Her position with the firm begins October 1st. She and Sophie are enjoying life in Portland.
We are very proud of Sharon and wish her well in her law career. I've included 2 graduation pictures for you: one of Sharon holding her diploma and one of Sharon with her entourage.

Tom, thanks for sharing! Please pass our good wishes on to Sharon. I don't see her listed in the blog contributors. Maybe after she passes the Oregon Bar she'll have time to join the blog.
Way to go Sharon! Do you remember visiting us with Tom in San Diego many moons ago?
