View Family Tree

Along with the great pictures so many of you, particularly Dale and Tom, have been posting, several of us have also been documenting the family tree. Dale and Tom have done a huge amount of work over the last several years, and I jumped in last year to help. We have also been working on the sources for the information as a way to ensure accuracy.

I have posted the tree on Rootsweb.com so that the information can be part of the broader body of knowledge about our ancestors, an initiative known as the World Connect Project. You can also view the information at Rootsweb by navigating to http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/. On this screen, go to the box under "jump to a specific database" and enter walkerca in the box. Then click "GO." Use the index to navigate to a person of interest.

For privacy reasons, details about people born after 1930 without a death date have been scrubbed. For such people only gender and last name are posted. The first name is changed to "living." Why 1930? The Federal Census is released to the public after 72 years, so information on anyone born by 1930 is already part of the public domain.

Please take some time and explore this site. In particular, look at the descendency and pedigree links. I think you will find it interesting.

If you find any errors for people with full detail, please send me an email at craigwalker@wi.rr.com with the correct information. Dale and I are working on a process to collect and maintain data on living people, so sit tight on any changes there for now. Lastly, if you absolutely want information removed, please let me know and I will take it out of the file.
