AND I THOUGHT THE ONLY "POP CORN" PEOPLE WE HAD IN THE FAMILY WERE JOHNNY, NOTED POPPER, AND SUZIE AND DENNY, GROWERS, AND SOME-TIME GOOD SUBSTITUTE, STEVE BUT HE HAS SOME BIG SHOES TO FILL.
BOB
I've realized that as the Walker cousins reach new stages in life, there is a bigger need for more frequent communication. What I have decided to do, is try to offer a solution. I've come up with a way for us to have an online bulletin board. This will be a good way for you to either share family information, or to learn something about the concerns of the family. Previously, our family updates have been made by phone and email, but occasionally someone accidentally gets left out of the loop.

I thought Steve and assistants did a good job. But perhaps next July one of the techie types can video Johnny at work so Steve can study how to fill in authentically when needed.
IT WAS DARK WHO WERE THOES ASSISTANTS?
Unless my night vision and memory have betrayed me, they were Jim Breeze and Dick Walker's son John.
Ray,
You're going to have to put the official "Orville" seal of approval on any batch coming off the fire from now on!
Neither Dad nor I had plans on coming to the reunion this year. It just worked out at the very last minute. Judy and I got to Fort Wayne (2.5 hr drive) unloaded our vehicle, and loaded Dad's Suburban with their stuff and our's alike. In all the rush, the regular popcorn pot got left behind. The pot we used for the reunion came from the flea market. I found it just before they were closing up. The pot had to be seasoned before we could use it. Thank goodnes it was an old pot that had been taken care of fairly well. We only had to spoil one batch before we were in business.
Hopefully, the old pot and Dad will be back at the fire doing duty next year.
I'm pretty confident that I only got Orville's looks, not his popcorn knowledge. And, in order to provide an approval seal, I'd have to eat a whole batch. That probably would be a legitimate reason to be banished from the reunion permanently! You're a chip off the old block-----your batches were right up there with your dad's!
I think you must have been watching and studing John"s tecnique for a long time, it payed off.
For someone who had to not only "pop" the corn but supply the pot too, I think you did great.
Its good to know that we have great reserves, popers and servers, in the wings.
