Update on Howard

I hate to take us away from all of these wonderful stories back to a medical issue but just to respond to several questions about me:
1. My last update told how wonderful I was doing and the fantastic progress I was making.
2.Last week I had a major backset in that my right knee gave way and would no longer support my weight. This took me from all that walking free from my walker and put me back in my Hoveround electric chair to get around.
3. Doctor gave me a cortisone shot that helped rid the pain and increase the range of motion of the knee but I still can't support my body weight on the right leg and knee.
4. I know why my sister Mary Henkler and my sister in law Mary Walker had their knees replaced. It's great to be mobile. They both had great courage! My doctor says I need replacements badly but my life is so fragile that my other doctors say no more elective surgery (for probably as long as I live.)
5. My plan is to overcome this additional obstacle and get back to walking on my own again as soon as possible.
6. By the way, today Chris and I have been married seventeen years. How grateful I am for a wonderful wife!

Good Morning Howard & Chris. It doesn't seem like 17 years since I was in Nashville for your wedding. Congratulations!
