Thanks, John, for the story! I'm sure we can all recall "rats" that we have encountered along the way!
I am Diane (Walker) Marks, middle child of Dick's five children and granddaughter of Tab and Eleanor. Have been to Toms about 4 times, but am really just getting to know a few of the clan. What I do see and observe, is that, yes, we all are pretty similiar in what we do and what our lives stand for. That makes me proud. Anyway, Jim and I have been married over 31 years, have two sons, three grandchildren, and you will usually see us with a neice, Rachel Drew, who is like the daughter we always wanted. She may be at Toms with us this year, but, she turns 17 this Saturday, and her friends may come first. We'll see.
So, inspired by John's story......with the May loss of my best friend, my grandmother, Eleanor, and with the June birth of our 3rd grandchild, I have decided to begin writing journels of my life to pass on to my future generations. So many things I wish I would have asked my grandparents, that have died with them.
Looking forward to meeting new relatives in a few weeks. Sure hope some of the humidity we have had is gone by then...........

Yahoo, Good Job!!!
I knew you could do it!!!
Diane, It was Bonnie Prudden that said: "You can't turn back the clock. But you can wind it up again." Thanks for winding the clock. What better way to publish your journals, than with your loved ones here on the blog. Others should folow your example, once you start the words will flow, because each one who tells a story has earned the right to tell it. The reason is, they lived it. Believe that: there is no other way to add substance to names and dates chiseled in granite.
