Starting a "New Life"

There is this place just outside of Fort Wayne that could and should be found to some of you.
Camp Lakewood.
I was in a canoe in the middle of the lake. With two males about my age. The three of us were trying to row are little canoe back into shore to be with the rest of our group as it was we were running late to our next activity. As we would get close a wind would come and knock us back out to the lake. One of the boys in the boat with me was getting very upset as he thought we would be stuck forever. (A very dramatic 9 year old) I finally told the boys to stop every thing they were doing and we would pray and tell God that only with his help would we get back to shore. So we prayed and prayed. 9 and 1o year olds, to not goof around when this could mean missing lunch. When is said amen we picked up our paddles and banked right on the shore. I knew then like I do now that I can do all things though God he gives me strenght That canoe gave me the assurance that God is there and he care even about little ole' me.

Dani-

I could go on for days about youth retreats at Camp Lakewood. Once three of us boys each took our own canoe to Goose Bay or Turtle Bay, or both, knowing us. On the way back the wind was blowing so hard that as we were sitting in the back of our canoes, the strong wind would push the front of our canoes back out away from the shore. This went on for some time with no progress. We didn't think to pray. Fortunately I came up with the remedy. We each sat in the front of our canoes and thus were able to make it back to shore.
