Hello everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself since I am so new to this whole blogging thing. I wrote a few comments a few days ago, but many of you may not have seen it. I am Dwight Walker's youngest daughter, Carl Walker's granddaughter, and Elaine Sitz's sister. I live in Minneapolis with my husband Phil, and 9 year-old twins Jason & Sydney. Just wanted everyone to know we are all OK after the 35W bridge collapse within a mile of where I work at the University of Minnesota. The bridge heads north from the U and we live south, so I only use it occasionally. Luckily, I didn't know anyone directly, but have heard numerous stories from work colleagues and friends about their experiences. The one that sticks with me the most was from a work colleague who had walked over the bridge 15-20 min. before it collapsed and was stopped on the street and asked for directions to the 35W bridge. She gave them to the woman and afterward is haunted by wondering if the woman made it before the collapse, didn't get that far, or was one of the victims. Too close to home....
I look forward to trying to keep up with the Walkers in this electronic way.

Hi Ellen! I know who you are but I don't know you. I wish I did. Thanks for joining in the blog. I could tell you stories about your Dad and me and what we did after Sunday evening and Wednesday evening services at church.
Actually the first time I remember eating at a restaurant was with your Dad. The first movie I went to at age 16 was with your Dad.
Thanks for joining in. We'll be glad to hear more about you and your family!
Hi Ellen, Thanks for joining the blog. I too am geographically separated from the rest of the family but am in constant contact through the blog. I remember meeting you at your mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary but no other memeories of you. You probably know that they always stopped at my house in Las Cruces, New Mexico on their way to see Elaine in San Diego. Jo Ellyn and I always looked forward to seeing them. We are easy to find as we are just 6 city blocks from I-10. What do you do at the U of Minnesota? I guess education is in the blood of many of the Walkers. I work at New Mexico State University. Keep us up to date.
