MORE NIGHT FLYING

I HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO WHILE FLYING FROM PROVIDENCE R.I. TO NEW YORK CITY AT NIGHT. IT WAS JULY 4 AND THE FLIGHT WENT JUST SOUTH OF LONG ISLAND SOUND. I THINK EVERY CITY ON THE COAST HAD A FIRE WORKS DISPLAY THAT NIGHT AND IT WAS SPECTACULAR.
I OFTEN TOLD BOBBIE ABOUT HOW THE DISPLAYS WERE UNBELIVEABLE.
MANY YEARS LATER WHILE IN CHICAGO WE WENT OUT TO DINNER AT THE JOHN HANDCOCK BUILDING'S RESTURANT ON THE 95th FLOOR. I ASKED TO BE SEATED ON THE EAST SIDE NEAR THE WINDOWS. THIS WAS ON A WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND I KNEW THAT EVERY WEDNESDAY THEY SHOOT OFF A GREAT DISPLAY FROM NAVY PIER. THE FACT THAT THE BACKGROUND WAS ALL WATER REALLY IMPROVES THE DISPLAYS. WE BOTH ENJOYED IT AND SHE AGREED WITH ME FIRE WORKS FROM ABOVE IS BETTER.

Hi Bob!
You've given me a new goal! I have some friends who own The Windy and Windy II, which are large sail ships docked at Navy Pier. My friends invited me and another friend to spend the night on one of the ships recently, and go out on that Wed. night fireworks display tour. Seeing the sparklies out over the water was awesome, but now that I've read about your experience, I want to fly on July 4th someday. You should google the Windy Tall Ship. It's a beautiful ship. By the way, if we need anything from the store during the reunion, would you be willing to make a run? Don't worry, you won't need a list.
