Message from Barb Winger

Hey You Two!! (Howard & Chris)
That's a really nice picture of both of you! I was glad to see it. Honestly, I don't think either of you look any different than you ever did to me!
Sorry to hear about your knee trouble. BUT, the good news is YOU ARE A WALKER!!! And we all know how determined, tough, optimistic, and stubborn we all are. HA!! There's no doubt in my mind that you'll overcome that too!!! My famous line whenever anything happens is: "It's gonna take a lot more than this to take this ole' biddy down!" HA!!
Frank too, has knee trouble, but his is arthritis. He would like a cortisone shot about every 6 weeks because it's pretty painful, even to stand. So, hopefully the Doc will give him something different to try. I actually forgot about Aunt Mary Frances getting the knee replacement, but do know about Mary Henkler.

We have not been able to get in the boat much this year. So we're trying for this week-end. Sometimes we go to Diamond Lake, that's in Cassopolis, Michigan. It's about the same distance to travel as Wawasee, but the fishing is much better. It's a nice lake, clear blue water, fairly big, but not as big as Wawasee. I remember growing up, My Dad took us up there. There is an island in the lake, with a ferry that carries cars back & forth. Pretty neat! Where you get on/off the ferry on the mainland is where we got the dog from He--, Fritz!! I was about 10, I guess. Remember Fritz? He was the little black and white Fox Terrier that was such a delinquent! He would take off somewhere and be gone for a few hours. Then my Dad would get a call from the Humane Society that they had Fritz. Dad would jump in the Buick, and be back in the drive-way within 15 min with Fritz in the front seat! The Dog Pound would usually charge people, but as usual, Garfield was well-liked, and in this case, Fritz too. So they never charged Dad, just called him to come and get his buddy, HA!! Anyway, that's the Lake we're going to this week-end!! Earlier this summer Frank caught a nice Bass, a Wall-Eye Pike, some Perch, Rock Bass and lots of Blue Gill. I don't fish, I just like being out in the boat and going fast!

If you want to post this on the blog, it's OK. If not, that's OK too.

Hope you have a nice Week-end!
