Hey, I liked your story on the blog. Isn't that funny how you'll remember something like that? I guess one of my fondest memories is maybe not that deep or inspirational, but my Mom's Mom, Grandma Quaintance, used to load up all us 5 girl cousins and take us to the swimming hole at Merrifield Park in Mishawaka! It was just a round, cement pond with a big fountain in the middle,,,lots of kids,,,,I was fat so I swam in my shorts,,,,but it was always fun!! I've got some other news to share. Frank is in the hospital. We had been planning for the last 3 weeks to have a big family gathering. It's been impossible to have all of our kids, grandkids, and his sister and brother and extended family together at the same time. We finally got it planned, everyone was coming, I had all the tons of food in the house and prepared, the the carpets were cleaned, the garage was painted, the yard had extra care, the tent cover was pitched in the back yard,,,and then it hit! Another Kidney stone! We went to the Emergency Room Saturday morning as he was in so much pain. They discovered he has a 1 inch stone 2/3 of the way down the tube. Too big to pass. With a cluster behind it coming down also. He had taken Vicoden in the morning, then the IV with another narcotic that didn't work, then finally morphine that stopped the pain. We went home with narcotic pain med of Percaset (sp?). It stopped working last night around 6:00. Back to the emergency room, we waited 4 hours to see the Dr. This time he was admitted. The Dr. said this AM he thinks this is the same stone he had 2 years ago and has been growing to about 2 inches. It broke in 1/2 leaving TWO, inch stones in his kidney and tube. He believes they are Uremic, meaning they can be dissolved with meds. However, won't know until they're analyzed within the next 2 days. Meantime, he will have surgery later today to insert a stint, (a small tube inserted inside your tube) to relieve the pressure and thus the pain. He may go home tonight if all goes well. Then wait to see what the stones are. If they are NOT uremic stones, are in fact calcium, he will have surgery by way of incision through the back, and using a scope to remove both of the stones. He is finally not in pain this morning, but yesterday it was so intense it made him vomit. I'm at work for awhile as I don't have much vacation time due to my own illness. I'm saving what time I have left for his surgery tonight and if another is needed. I was at the hospital last night until midnight, went home to let dogs out, slept for 3 hours, took a shower and back to the hospital, then work. I'm pooped! I'll have to spend all day tomorrow mowing the yard. Our's takes me an entire day to push mow, rider mow and weed eat, and it's so hot, I'll have to rest some in between. I'm glad I got the house all clean already!
Better get busy, but if you would, let people know on the blog, OK?? Thanks.
Hope you're feeling better, too!

OUCH! Mine was the size of a peppercorn and it about killed me. You didn't make my day by helping me realize what can go wrong just before a big gathering. But then you are still dealing with the "W" word.
Late this afternoon we had a storm go through which dropped one of our hickory trees across the driveway. How fun!
Barb..............sorry to hear of your husbands kidney stone......Hopefuly the stent does not give hime too much discomfort. Sometimes after you think you are giving birth to a kidney stone...........and it causes so much pain......then the stent discomfort is torable.... I have never had a stent, but I have never taken care of a man or woman who thought the stent was any fun......keep us updated....Doris
