Ralph J. Smith, age 63, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 7:05 am Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Ralph was born April 24, 1947 in Newport, Arkansas to Ralph R. and Martha Alice (Weatherford) Smith. Surviving is his Mother, Martha Smith of Mishawaka, and his children, Debi (Morris) Boroff of Norwalk, Ohio, and Joel (Melissa) Smith of Ocala, Florida. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Joshua and Sean Boroff, and Devon and Jonathan Smith. Surviving as well is his sister, Doris (Dennis) Drake of South Bend, Indiana. Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Ralph R. Smith
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Ken Fetter at 10:30 am Friday, July 2, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Garden of Devotion on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Ralph was a 1966 graduate of Mishawaka High School, where he played football and baseball. He was the owner and operator of Truck Air Conditioning business for 38 years in Dallas Texas. In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and fishing in his boat. Ralph was also a talented artist, doing wire art and sketching for many years.
