Debi Parrott's Brother

Well, I've debated long enough about whether to put this on the blog or not.....
Know this family as a caring, patriotic family with a lot of military history I feel this is appropriate. I don't share much serious news, but everybody has some from time to time.

My family currently includes 4 servicemen. My youngest brother, Sgt. Patrick Gates, is serving in Afghanistan as the officer in charge of a Strycker vehicle. (You-tube shows them.) Saturday they ran over a bomb that blew a 4 ft. crater underneath them, and turned the tank over. Thankfully they didn't have fire in the vehicle. Nobody was killed right there, but two men were airlifted and others were injured, including my brother. He WILL be ok, and they plan to put him back in a Strycker as soon as he recovers. He's having a lot of flashback, and he's losing weight fast because he can't eat. He's very concerned about the other men, one of the two airlifted is his best friend there. He doesn't have details on their injuries or condition. More than anything I covet your prayers for him. For comfort, and healing of mind and body. I spent all of today with his wife and 3 children...Alexis 12, Keilah 10, & Jordon 7. They are also struggling. If you would like to send a card or package, it's not expensive and I would be happy to give you his address. Email me.

Thank you for putting this on the blog Debbie. I'm very busy this morning getting ready to leave, but not so busy that I can't take the time to send my best.

Deb We will include him in our thoughts an prayers, and also hold you up. There is an old military saying, "they also serve who sit and wait." Thank you for the service to our country of your entire family, too.

Thank you Craig! Sometimes I'm overwhelmed if I let myself think of the statistics with 4 active servicemen. I know you understand.
