I AM IN FLORIDA TRYING TO GET WARM AND RECUPERATING FROM A HEART PACE MAKER INSTALLATION.
I WAS HAVING DIZZY SPELLS AND LIGHTHEADED SENSATIONS FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. I STARTED TO RECORD MY BLOOD PRESSURE BUT DIDN'T BELIEVE THE NUMBERS. I WENT TO THE FIRE STATION TO HAVE MY METER CHECKED AND THEY WOULDN'T LET ME GO HOME, THEN TOOK ME TO THE HOSPITAL. THEY SAID I HAD A "HEART BLOCK", THAT MEANS MY UPPER PART OF MY HEART WASN'T TALKING TO THE LOWER.
THEY KEPT ME OVER NIGHT AND PUT IN A DUAL CHAMBER PACE MAKER THE NEXT DAY. THIS CLEARED UP THE DIZZY SPELLS AND THE LIGHT HEADED SENSATIONS.
I HAVE BEEN TO THE SURGEON'S AND THE PACE MAKER OFFICES. THEY BOTH SAY I AM DOING OK BUT TOLD ME SOME "NO NO'S" AND BOBBIE IS TRYING TO FOLLOW THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS.
I AM FEELING MUCH BETTER AND NOW ABLE TO RIDE MY BIKE AND DRIVE THE CAR.

We have been wondering how you were doing so are glad for the update and to hear that the pacemaker is doing its thing. They are quite remarkable little machines! Sounds like you had a close call. Hope things continue to go well for you.

Dick has had his defibrillator/pacemaker since late October and is doing OK. Unfortunately it won't fix all his problems.

Stay well!!! And soak up some rays for the rest of us Northerners.
