Raleigh C Walker and Scott Raleigh Walker - Jun 91

This picture was taken in June 1991 after Raleigh C Walker baptized Scott Raleigh Walker at Albright Church in what I believe was Raleigh's last act as a pastor.

Thanks Craig for posting the great picture. You are right it was his last act as pastor. Wish Dad knew that Scott was at the academy. He would be so proud.
Do you have any snow up there? I measured 15 inches on our patio this afternoon. I'm ready for spring.

Not only was it his last professional duty but I believe it was his last trip out of North Manchester. We will always be grateful for the many that came to visit him in his last 2 or 3 months. It sure doesn't seem like it has been over 18 years... until we see a picture of Scott of course! Thanks Craig.

I remember the baptism very well. It was a very emotional time, a bit like transferring life from the older Raleigh to the younger Scott Raleigh. Real tough shoes to fill Scott.

I also remember being one of those visitors at Raleigh's bedside. It was very hard for me because I felt like Raleigh was the one who did visits in cases like that. He knew the right things to say and do. Tough shoes to fill indeed. Both Raleigh and Robert were very gifted and were able to connect easily with people.

I also remember the graveside service. Don was holding my arm because his sons had not been able to get back for the service. He said to me: "Am I going to have to watch all of my brothers and sisters die?"
