Somewhere over the US right now...

Right now I'm somewhere over Indiana I think...I just spent a week in Milan for work, and was fortunate enough to meet my mother Marleen for dinner one night at my hotel. For those that don't know, mom is spending 3 weeks or so in Italy w/one of her flight attendant friends who grew up there. She's got lots of stories to tell so far!

I haven't posted since my last trip, which was Denmark/Italy/France. Things have been busy - lots of projects to do at home, and then this trip to Italy. I get home today, the 17th, and leave Thursday with my girlfriend to Portland, OR to attend a wedding for one of her friends...I'm scheduled to go back to Italy on the 31st, but that may change. I think there is a good possibility I may leave right from Portland on Sunday or Monday. I think one more trip after that for another week in December. Not looking forward to that - it'll be cold! Winter is starting to set in, and the Alps were beautiful and covered in snow!

This next year I may end up in Brazil, Australia and China. There is a possibility of Moscow too, but I'm not betting anything on that one!

I was in San Francisco last week at Oracle OpenWorld and thought you might be there, but I assumed you were out seeing the world and doing real work. Sounds like my assumption was correct.

I don't think I'm quite at the point of attending OpenWorld yet - and my colleagues said last year was a big disappointment. I'm not so sure we're going to make it a point to attend anymore.
