Tom's Photo Of The Cousins -- 1948

I have talked to my Mom several times and we think we have most of them identified. Of course we are open to corrections, additions and general discussion. Names are all left to right

Top Row *** Richard Walker, John Walker, Garfield Walker, Yvonne Walker holding Suzy, not sure maybe Howard

Middle Row *** Ray Rickert, Ronny Walker, Edgar Walker, Mary Walker holding Tom Walker, Bob Drake, Chuck Lehr.

Front Row *** Nancy, Terry, Larry, and Shirley Wisler, Dennnis Drake, Carol Walker, Sharon Walker, Joanne Walker, Roger Walker (we think)

Depends when the picture was taken. Howard was away to college at that time if it was in the fall. But it sure looks like Howard to me.

I enjoyed seeing the picture of the Walker Cousins in 1948.

We have a picture of our family which I think was taken the same day. It is dated Sept. 26, 1948. I'm pretty sure this was taken on the church steps the day of Grandma Walker's funeral.

It pretty much had to be Grandma's funeral otherwise Carol & I would not be in the picture. That is definately Carol in the front row. Grandma went out to Calif. to see her new Grandson (that would be me) and she was holding me when she died.

After Grandma died at the Quonset hut in Hollywood, arrangements were made to have her body shipped east. My father arranged to have a funeral director friend (Lyman Light) drive us to St. Georges Utah were Mr. Light took a bus home and my father drove on to Mishawaka. He told me the ploy didn't work too well because he didn't sleep much on the way to Utah. In any event, Dad told me we arrived 15 minutes ahead of the service.

Mother tells about having to get my bottle warmed while on the road. Of course, my sister was probably being a pill in the car. Te he he. Carol told me she could not figure out how they were going to get Grandma on that tiny airplane in the sky. In any event, my first road trip. How many of you started younger than that?

I did some comparisons of old photos that I have and that is Howard in the top row. No question about it.
