WALKER, Howard E. Born May 22, 1929 in South Bend, IN. Preceded in death by his parents, H. Ray and Grace Walker, and brother, Garfield Walker. Survived by his wife of 18 years, Christine Walker; children, Bruce Walker (Karen) and Nancy Walker of Nashville, Judy Dellaripa (Mike) of Virginia; stepsons, Greg Street (Mindy) and Steve Street; grandchildren, Ben and Trevor Walker, Jacob, Joshua, Riley Street, Laura Glover, Karen Burke, Susan and Linda Dellaripa, Trenor and Rayla James, Kyra Walker; brothers, John Walker (Pat), Edgar Walker (Mary); sister, Mary Henkler of Indiana; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving sisters and brothers-in-law. A retired United Methodist Minister, Howard served in the local church in California before being appointed to an editorial position at the United Methodist Publishing House in numerous capacities until his retirement in 1993. Howard owned and operated Westminster Realty and Westminster Development Corp. in Bellevue for several years, was past owner and President of Nashville School of Real Estate. Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 5, 2008 at Hendersonville Memory Gardens & Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Potts officiating. Interment will follow in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation will begin today from 2-8 p.m., and will resume on Friday, at 10 a.m. until service time. A special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, techs, and friends at the Dialysis Center in Gallatin, to Drs. Ralph Atkinson, Dana Thompson, Raul Couret, Patrick Meacham, Randy Howard and Scott Hande, the nurses and staff at Hendersonville Medical Center for their continued care, to Rev. Mike Potts and Rev. Pat Smith and the Rehoboth United Methodist Church family for their many acts of kindness. We are also grateful to the No. 1 Volunteer Fire Dept. for being there for us, and to Alive Hospice for their care and support these last few days.
