So far I've put a small doe and this guy in the freezer. He's a 2 year old 7-point. Not much of a rack but he'll eat real good! Shot this one with my muzzleloader one of my good friends gave me for last Christmas. He was down in a swamp 107 yards away (laser rangefinder) and I got a near perfect hit.
Oh yeah, I was hunting with another good friend in his elevated, heated blind. It was so warm, that I had my boots off while it was 20 degrees outside! We had hot coffee, hot chocolate, hot tea, hot soup and ham and swiss cheese sandwiches. We even had a porta potty! Never left the blind all day! Now this kind of hunting I can get REAL used too!

I dunno Steve. First you are a picture model and now this new deer blind. It sounds like you are getting kinda soft in your old age.
I'm off this morning to see the eagles in Mo. until TG. Hopefully, I will not get a close up of a deer on the way down.

Is it just me, or do any of the rest of you wonder what the heck Steve is wearing? Orange coat and hat with a plaid kilt?
I'm wondering also but didn't want to get a man upset that is brave enough to venture into the cold wearing those.
Those are the pants complete with suspenders from my Sault Sainte Marie Wool Company, Sault Sainte Marie, Canada hunting suit. I have a coat and hat that match the pants. It was too warm to have them on, besides, I had to comply with the hunter orange requirements... might as well be stylin' when you're in the woods!
Good Job Steve, how many deer are you allowed to harvest a year?
Did they tie the poor critter to a tree? Makes it even easier.
