Walkers in Victoria

This week there are 3 of us in Victoria, BC. Today we went to Butchart Gardens and we had perfect weather. Robin flew in from Toronto, Tom flew in from Atlanta and Elaine flew in from San Diego. Elaine and I got to see killer whales on the ferry from Vancouver. We head to Vancouver on Friday. It is a rough life, but somebody has to do it.

BTW, we had 80mph winds at home and we lost a lot of limbs, including one across the driveway. As of Tuesday evening, the power was still out. More people in the Cincy area lost power than those in Houston. There was a 90% outage in Cincy and we are on Cincy power. Kay is coping fine. We got out hours before the winds hit.

HI ROBIN

HOW WAS THE FERRY RIDE OVER TO THE ISLAND?
THE FERRY WE WERE ON WAS LIKE A OCEAN LINER, VERY BIG. WE DIDN'T FEEL ANYTHING.
HOPE YOUDIDN'T GET SICK.

Tom,
Are there ANY nice people in Canada??? Maybe one of them would take a picture of the 3 of you together? That would be intersting.....

The ferry ride was wonderful! Robin missed it because she flew into Victoria. Elaine and I took the ferry because we flew into Vancouver. We got to see several pods of killer whales on the trip. Robin was very upset she missed them.

Today we walked around town. We saw a cruise ship in port. We have high tea every afternoon at 3pm. We have not yet had a picture of the 3 of us. We have a wonderful kitchen in our unit. Last night we had grilled sausages and tonight I fixed a sausage pasta. We have tried a variety of local cheese. One was dore mi which holds its form when it is grilled or skewered on the grill.

Today we took the ferry from Vancouver Island to the mainland and tonight we are in downtown Vancouver. We are right in the middle of the city and the car barely fits. The weather is still nice albeit cooler and cloudier.

We will be thinking about all of you on Sunday. We return the car on Sunday morning and will be on foot until Wednesday when we leave on the ship for Hawaii. Elaine flies home on Sunday back to San Diego.
