Robin and I are in Kauai tonight and are about to depart for Maui. Everything has gone well on the cruise. We spent a week in the northern Pacific Ocean and did well and kept busy. The crossing was a bit rough, but not all that bad. Robin is considering other cruises, so that is good news. We restocked supplies on Kauai. We have met a lot of nice people on the ship. There is a classical trio on board who play several times a day. I love to listen to them. They are from Poland and are off to see the world.

For those keeping up with us, we arrived in Maui this morning about 6am. We will be here until Thursday evening. We are near the airport in Kahalui. This evening we will be having dinner with a friend from my high school days in California.
Glad you are having a good time.
The ship leaves Maui in about an hour. Today we rented a car and drove to the old whaling village at Lahina. We drove around the small end of the island in a Chevy Cobalt. I'm sure glad I drive a Lincoln. The car burned $16 of fuel in 64 miles. I think my gas guzzler V-8 would have burned less fuel than that. Gas here went down to $4.50/gal. Tomorrow morning we arrive in Hilo on the Big Island.
We landed in Hilo this morning and it is raining. Oh, well, so we get wet or stay on the ship. Tonight we should be able to see the glow from the volcono lava hitting the sea. Last night was our last elegant dinner of the cruise.
This morning we are in Kona and have to take a small shuttle boat (tender) to go ashore. The weather is beautiful here this morning. Yesterday we were very lazy. Last night we could see the glow from the lava, although it was fairly faint.
Tom and Robin:
I love your comments and reports though we do not respond to each one. Please do not take that as a lack of interest.Keep us posted as you travel.
I am up and about but very weak yet.Lots of pain but we have medicine for it.I continue to gain strenth. Please continue to pray for us.
Tom, I am looking forward to seeing a few pictures, okay, a lot of pictures from this trip. I think you might pass me in the amount of pictures you take during a year.
Howard, when I was younger and I saw all of the places people visited, I just wanted to go too but was at least grateful for the pictures and stories they shared of their travels. I never imagined that one day I would live in a big house and be able to visit those places I only heard about or saw on a map. This is why I try to share my travels. I will post pictures when I get home.
Today we landed in Honolulu and were greeted as we docked with an Hawaiian band and hula dancers at about 6:30 in the morning. The Hawaiian people sure do know how to take care of their visitors.
We are thinking now to book another cruise.
We are off the ship and at the airport waiting to fly to California to visit Carol. We had a great cruise! Too short as usual, but it will have to do. We saw a full rainbow from the ship this morning.
We have arrived in California with Carol. She will be serving the infamous corn casserole from the reunion which none of us were able to attend. We will visit with Rhonda & Glenn tonight at their new home. Marleen and Bob are in Quebec now and last week Bev & Ron returned from Montana & Wyoming. Rumor has it they were home only 10days between May and October. Dad taught us well about travel.
Well, the 2 western travelers have returned home safely. One of us would say "finally". We were greeted at home with a lot of branches in the yard from the storm that hit the day we left. That and the freezer is empty and a damaged car is in the garage. But other than that, everything is fine and it was a wonderful trip to BC and Hawaii. We are planning our next cruise already.
